Why do you call yourself an employer services company?
Our company is set up to do more than just process numbers. We have designed our company to assist with all aspects of your obligations as an employer. Our goal is for you to have the answers you need with one phone call.
Am I required to have Workers Compensation Insurance?
Generally, every employer is required by law to have an insurance policy covering employees if they are injured on the job. This insurance covers both medical expenses as well as wages lost because of the inability to work due to the injury. The People Group requires that all of our clients comply with the law by insuring their employees.
Whose checking account do the checks come from?
There are two basic options. 1) The paychecks come from your account and 2) the paychecks come from The People Group’s account. The People Group is happy to work with you to determine which solution will work best for you.
Do I have to provide check stock?
No. Our technology system allows us to produce checks with your name and account number on them. We can even include your logo if you desire. We will work with you to set up everything accurately, securely, and confidentially.
Are your systems secured?
We make every effort to protect the data we are entrusted with. We have a strict confidentiality policy and treat your information as we would treat our own. We also have built-in redundancy in our system including off-site backups to ensure that you can get your data when you need it.
Do you give legal advice?
We are not attorneys. We cannot give legal advice, however, the advice we give comes from years of experience in employer services fields. Our staff is very aware of where the legal line is and will advise you when you need to seek the services of an attorney.
How soon can I get paychecks after turning in my employees’ time?
We ask for a 48 hour turnaround time, however we are often able to rush an emergency payroll through within a very short time. With most employees participating in direct deposit of their paycheck, we are required to send that electronic file the day before payday so that leaves us one day for processing of each payroll.
Do you have any bilingual capabilities?
Yes. We have staff members who are native speakers of Spanish, Cantonese, and Mandarin Chinese. They are happy to assist in communicating with employees on any employment-related items.
Do you sell insurance products?
We have licensed insurance agents on staff to ensure that we can accurately communicate with our clients regarding insurance products; however, we do not earn any commissions on the insurance products our clients utilize. We work with outside agents (either yours or ours) to make sure the insurance is the right insurance for you.
